First and only edition of a surprisingly rare treatise on the Dendera (Tentyra, Denderah) zodiac, a bas-relief from the ceiling of the Hathor temple at Dendera, Egypt, now in the Louvre in Paris.
The first two parts are translated from Saulnier's Notice sur le voyage de M. Lelorrain, en Égypte; et observations sur le zodiaque circulaire de Denderah (1822), while the third and fourth includes Cole's interpretation.

In good condition. Title-page and frontispiece browned, the frontispiece with tear repaired at the back, owner's inscription on the title-page ("Charles G. Napier"). With list of subscribers and one name added in manuscript. A few contemporary annotations.
