A rare and visually striking portrait of George Washington (1732–1799), Founding Father and the first President of the United States, published as part of the Stuttgarter Bilderbogen series.

This finely hand-coloured print features Washington’s likeness framed by a laurel wreath, surrounded by detailed vignProductsettes illustrating key moments in his life: his early work as a surveyor, his leadership during the Siege of Boston, his presidential inauguration, and his death.

The bottom of the print includes a bilingual (German and English) biographical text, ending with a noteworthy phrase: “after having given his slaves their liberty”—a historical claim reflecting 19th-century European perspectives on Washington’s legacy.
