A miniature artist's book by the Ecart Group

Price

€ 275,00

A rare and experimental miniature artist’s book by the Swiss Ecart Group, created entirely from leftover scraps of earlier publications and hand-numbered on the final page.

The Ecart Group—founded in Geneva in 1969 by John M. Armleder, Claude Rychner, and Patrick Lucchini—was Switzerland’s answer to Fluxus. Active until 1982, the group became a driving force in the European avant-garde, publishing artist’s books, organizing exhibitions and performances, and running a gallery and bookstore. They also introduced many leading international artists to Switzerland, including Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, and Daniel Spoerri.

This publication serves as a visual archive of failure: not the highlights of Ecart’s publishing history, but the discarded remnants, reassembled in random order.

The result is both playful and subversive—an art object that embodies the group’s spirit of experimentation.
