A miniature artist's book by the Ecart Group, made entirely of discarded material left over from previous publications, and hand-numbered on the last page.

The Ecart Group was a Swiss art movement comparable to Fluxus. It was founded in 1969 in Geneva by the artists John M. Armleder, Claude Rychner and Patrick Lucchini, the name being a palindrome of "trace". The movement was dissolved in 1982.

The Ecart Group was a notable presence in the art world during the 1970s and 1980s, known for publishing artist's books, presenting exhibitions and performances, and operating a bookstore and gallery. The group introduced many leading artists of the time to Switzerland and Europe, including Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, and Daniel Spoerri.

This publication is, in a sense, a visual history of the books published by the Ecart movement, showing not the highlights but – in random order – the failures.
