Four rare American theatre posters printed on card, all measuring ca. 56,5 x 35,5 cm. Some have small damages, but overall they are in very good condition. They are an interesting record of American theatre history.

New York, Sunshine Theatre, [1940s?]

 

O’Neill’s acclaimed play premiered in Vanderbilt Theatre on November 2, 1921. The Sunshine Theatre, originally established by Charles Steiner and Abraham Minsky, was a famous theatre with an interesting history, functioning respectively as a Dutch church, a Yiddish music hall, a theatre and finally as an independent cinema. It closed in 2018.

Augustus Phillips (1874 – 1944) performed in stock theatre and appeared in 134 films.
