Le Touriste en chemin de fer. Ligne de Paris a Versailles. Trains de Plaisir. Paris, R. Lebrasseur, [ca. 1850]. Oblong (15 x 23 cm). Title-page, and 22 hand-coloured lithographed plates (including a frontispiece and a map). Publisher's blind-stamped green cloth with title ("Voyage de Paris a Versaille") in gilt on front board. In very good condition, with the plates foxed and the binding gently rubbed.
A lovely colour plate book with views of historic sites along the line Paris-Versaille, built in the 1840's.
The plates include views of Courbevoie, Suresnes, St. Cloud, Sèvres, Ville d'Avray, and Versaille (12 views), lithographed by De Becquet frères after Provost. Lebrasseur also published a similar collection with views along the line Paris-Chartres.
