A rare offprint (first published in Het Masker) of an article on the Vilna Troupe, a mostly Yiddish-speaking international theater company.

 

The company, also known as Federation of Yiddish Dramatic Actors, was founded in Vilna (Vilnius) during WWI by Alexander Asro. The troupe toured extensively, performing in The Netherlands, London, Paris and even in New York. This offprint features photographic portraits of all members of the troupe as well as four articles, including one by Alexander Asro detailing the history of the company.

23,5 x 19,5 cm. [18] pp. numbered 145-164. Stapled in original wrappers. Wrappers damaged, the staples gone, leaving the quires loose, otherwise in very good condition.
