Dissertation on the respiratory system of birds, with 6 hand-coloured plates
€ 1.650,00
Rare inaugural dissertation on the respiratory system of birds, strikingly illustrated with 6 hand-coloured plates.
Sappey, in his Recherches sur l'appareil respiratoire des oiseaux, praises Fuld's keen observational powers: "la partie anatomique de son travail, qui exigeait seulement un talent d'observation, est vraiment remarquable". And, despite some shortcomings, Fuld "expose avec lucidité la direction du tronc générateur des conduits aérifères, la forme, le trajet, l'aspects, aréolaire, et les anastomoses des canalicules pulmonaires".
Fuld was a Jewish physician who practised in Frankfurt am Main, where he died in 1734. This seems to be the only work he published.
